These Pilates Reformer Planking Handles are a great addition to any C, A, H, or F series reformer, or Combo Chair. The planking handles are rotatable, allowing them to be rotated in four different directions. Additionally, the handles can be locked at four different heights in each direction, offering a total of 16 different positions.
The Pilates Reformer Planking Grips are suitable for everyone: from those experiencing rehabilitation to athletes. They're great for plank-based exercises. The grips offer even more: by rotating the grips perpendicular to the foot bar, an ideal position is created for those suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, RSI, or arthritis. It's also possible to weight-bear the foot bar for a period of time. This alternative position can reduce pressure on the wrists, which can reduce discomfort and pain.
With external rotation, the handle acts as an extended foot bar. This improves posture during exercises performed against the reformer. It can also serve as a wider foot bar for larger clients, providing a stability point for standing rehabilitation exercises.
Another major advantage of the Pilates Reformer Planking Handles over a foot bar is that they can be used in offset positions, such as one high, one low, or one facing the foot bar end and the other the head end. This allows for some very challenging exercises and is helpful in reducing the influence of a dominant arm or leg.
The board handles can also provide similar benefits with our Combo Chair.
